Travel Tryout Registration

2026 Travel Season

Tryout Times & Dates (Tryouts will be held at the Marmaduke Park and Bellevue rinks in late September and into October 2025) - TBD

The Team Pittsburgh Ball Hockey travel program consists of 5 age divisions from ages 4 through 19 who play in various tournaments in western Pennsylvania against other dek hockey organizations. In addition, Team Pittsburgh will travel out of the area to compete in 3-4 tournaments. These tournament destinations may include New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston, and Niagara Falls, Canada.

**There is NO TRYOUT FEE at TEAM Pittsburgh

NOTE FOR GIRLS:

**Girls can play an extra year at each division. Therefore, girls in the first year of a new division have the option to tryout for a team in that division, and the one they played in the previous year.

If you have a daughter who wants to tryout for that 4th year in a division, please email [email protected] and let us know so we can add them to that tryout. If they are trying out for the division associated with their birth year as well, please register for that tryout below.

The travel teams are formed by having this competitive tryout. Each team will play in approximately 8 tournaments per year starting in late February through early August. Players are expected to attend weekly practices on Sunday and as rink time permits. The payment of $450 will not be paid unless your child is chosen for a team. At that time, you will receive an email to accept and make a payment. There is NO FEE TO TRYOUT.

A $75 DOLLAR NON-REFUNDABLE PAYMENT WILL BE DUE AT TIME OF TEAM ACCEPTANCE. THIS FEE IS CREDITED TOWARDS YOUR OVERALL TUITION.

Fundraising opportunities will be available to offset costs.

***NEW THIS UPCOMING SEASON***

Starting this upcoming season, Team Pittsburgh will officially operate under the rules and regulations of USA Ball Hockey (USABH). All participants who have accepted a roster spot will be required to register for a USABH membership number for the 2026 year once available to do so at https://usaballhockey.com/membership/ . This is only for kids who make a team not for tryouts. These steps are essential to ensure eligibility to participate within the Team Pittsburgh Ball Hockey program.

You will also notice a slight adjustment to the age groups in the information below. We're gradually transitioning toward a more consistent model with narrower age ranges across divisions. For the upcoming season, the primary changes affect Chipmunk and Penguin divisions. Additionally, all age groups will now be labeled using the "U" format (e.g., U8, U10) for clarity and alignment with broader standards.

Lastly, we will be transitioning away from the A, B, and C bracket labels and introducing a color-code system instead, similar to other organizations. Our goal is to ensure every athlete feels valued and motivated regardless of placement.
